A Science Fiction Poem.

I am the last of my kind...
I've said everything there is to say,
I've written down all that I can,
I've written down our lives on small notes; scattered every which way...
If you someday find them will you understand
Or will you see them as trash and simply throw what's left of us away?

I am the last of my kind...
Soon I will be leaving and no one will ever know,
I will lye on this ground and slowly
I will turn to dust and clay and my bones will be left.
The winds will blow and dirt will lay like a blanket over these old bones
and grass and trees will grow, Back into this earth I will go...
Centuries will pass and you will dig me up, you will study me, name me, you will display me...

For I am the last of my kind,
You've never seen anything like me, You are the new creatures of Earth;
You are the new race, and have never seen a human...
For I was the last of my kind.
